Icy Yazoo - 2nd version by hel999 Icy Yazoo - 2nd version by hel999
Sooo... I've got another one for you:)

Yesterday I made a Revision for Icy Yazoo by :iconsunnyday81: See my journal if you want to know more about it.

This is her painting:

I liked the original artwork very much, so I was almost afraid to touch it. I tried something with it which can be found here:

I didn't have much time for it and in the end I wasn't too satisfied with the result. I needed to bring the cold feeling in again and make it look more like Yazoo. So I revised the revision:) And here's the result.

I hope *sunnyday81 likes it.

Totally gorgeous but somehow, I rather liked the first version. The coldness of the white/ grey hair and the paleness of the skin's tone are amazing.

"In love" is not maybe the right term but Yaz is a bit part of my life yes ! :D You have managed to make him look more "real" somehow ! Incredibly impressed !

this is gorgeous. The other one is lovely too. It's great when one sees people out there find a work of art that may be more simple, but find the beauty in it all the same. Those works get passed by too many times

Exactly. And a good artwork also don't necessarily need all that polish too. I think in digital art there is such a big temptation to make things look "perfect"; the lines with the digital pen can be cleaner than with a real pen, you can zoom in indefinitely to fix all the little details etc. I am so tempted every time:D But things tend to look dead if you overdo it. At the moment I'm looking for that simplicity and I think that's why sunnyday's version impressed me.

mm, I've seen traditional that can have perfect edges and colors going on-it can be done. As well as digital, if "over done" win't make it lok dead-I think when things look dead or alive, it has to do with how the artist portrays it. Sometimes people worry too much on the exact mechanics of body structures or other things and forget about putting in emotion or body to it. That's really when it can fall short.

And, just as there are things digital is capable of and can show, there are a lot of things that can be done/shown in traditional that digital can never do. I think the pros and cons of both mediums actually even out to be the same, just for different reasons ^^

Yup, I'm back again! :) When I said I'd be constantly staring it, I wasn't joking! LOL Just wanted to ask you this time, do you know if this can be printed as a canvas (preferably on fabric)? I want to put it up on my wall, no kidding! Is it possible to make this available through dA or something so I can order it (once I save a bit more money, lol)? I want to frame it, too! And the bigger the better of course! LOL :D

I think the resolution of the canvas I worked on was about 1300 + 1700 pixel. That's not much for a print but I can try to increase the size and add some sharper lines here and there so that it won't look blurry on a big canvas:) You only need to wait a little until I find some time for that. I will upload the big file then and you can downlod it and do whatever you like with it. There are lots of online printing services that are much cheaper than dA. And we're not allowed to use this in our shop anyways because it's fan art and we don't own the full copyright to it. Soooooo... just google for the best prices:D

I really like this.
The lips are so softly drawn and the contrast makes it more realistic. The eye lashes are so detailed and make him seem distant.

The skin texture is just divine as well.
Lovely.
